This paint scheme debuted in the Gatorade Twin 125 Qualifier #1 at Daytona International Speedway on Thursday February 15, 1996. Earnhardt started the race on the pole, and led the final 21 laps of the race to earn the victory. Sterling Marlin finished 2nd in his Kodak Film Chevrolet fielded by Larry McClure. Earnhardt went on to win two more Cup Series races in 1996: Rockingham and Atlanta.
