This diecast reflects the special AC Delco paint scheme Dale Earnhardt Sr drove in the Suzuka Thunder Special race at Suzuka Circuitland, Suzuka City, Japan on Sunday November 23, 1997. Earnhardt started the race in 13th position, and had overheating problems which resulted in a 27th place finish. Mark Martin had the dominant car that day as he started on the pole and led a race-high 51 laps. However, the victory went to Mike Skinner in the #31 Lowes race car who led the final 23 laps of the race.
