This diecast commemorates Dale Earnhardt Sr's 8th career IROC win in IROC Race #2 at Talladega Superspeedway on Saturday April 24, 1999. Earnhardt started the race in 12th position and led only one lap, but that was the final lap of the race which included an exciting pass of Rusty Wallace to earn the victory. Rusty Wallace finished 2nd. It was Earnhardt Sr's second win in a row in the 1999 IROC series (he won the first race of the season at Daytona).
