This diecast reflects the #48 Lowe's Power Of Pride paint scheme Jimmie Johnson drove for Hendrick Motorsports in his first NASCAR Cup Series start which came in the UAW-GM Quality 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Sunday October 7, 2001. Johnson started the race in 15th position, but was involved in a crash with the fellow-rookie Ryan Newman on lap 152, and finished 39th. Sterling Marlin and Tony Sterart dominated the race, leading 135 and 130 laps respectively, but Marlin led the final 38 laps to earn the victory. Tony Stewart finished 2nd.
